I had a Moby wrap (good for newborns--though next time I think I'd prefer a ring sling) and an Ergo carrier (good for 4m+, though you can get an infant insert, too). LOVE the Ergo!
I had a Moby, but didn't like it much (too complicated to get on for me) so I got a Baby K'tan which I liked better. I also got an Ergo when DDs were older and I love it too!!! In my mind, it's essential with multiples. When I go to stores with only single carts, I can put one in the cart and put the other on my back. It also works great when you are going to a party/gathering by yourself with two toddlers. You can put one on your back and carry the other.

i loved my moby for newborn - 3mos. I just sold mine.
now i only have an ergo, mei tei and kokopax. although i love the versatility of the mei tei, i only use my kokopax these days. its just so comfy and easy to put on in a parkinglot...i always have a baby on my back, and then i either hold the other, or push them in a shopping cart or stoller (we just bought our first non-jogging one today!)
the ergo is cool but you cannot do a high back carry the hip carry is a good substitute, but its too darn hot during the summer. so, for us, it was a seasonale carrier.
