Restaurant recs for 5 yr. anniversary dinner?

Our 5 yr. anniversary is coming up Labor Day weekend and we are looking to go somewhere nice. Don't want to spend a ton of money, but definitely want to have a good, memorable meal. We are open to cuisines. I love a good dessert after dinner so would love to have some good options. Any suggestions? Oh, we are on the southside so no further north than midtown or buckhead preferably. Thanks!

  • With or without kids? Without kids--hands down, Bacchanalia. There is a review in my bio.

With kids-Fritti or Noon Midtown. Both have high chairs and stuff kids will eat.

    Definitely without kids. Thanks!!!

  • I second Sotto Sotto. If you don't want to spend a lot then Bacchanalia is not a good choice. My parents were there last weekend and were disappointed (and they go quite often). Aria is fabulous in Buckhead. Antica Posta in Buckhead is also good. Rathbuns, Shaun's, Holeman and Finch or Restaurant Eugene are also good choices.

  • I've got a bunch of restaurant reviews in my bio at most price points. I need to update Ecco as we went on Sat. night with a large group for a friend's birthday. DH and I spent about $70 including tip but no alcohol (BIL of the bday boy was buying the wine for the table). Service was excellent, and the food was very good. Have fun!!!
  • i highly recommend the iberian pig or cakes and ale in decatur!

  • Rathbun or Rathbun Steak - are two of our faves - I like Rathbun's desserts better esp the candy bar dessert, yum!

New York Prime in buckhead is Dh's fave place to go. I can taste their cheesy mashed potatoes right now. Oh and their banana cream pie is to die for.

We haven't been but I've heard good things about BLT Steak as well. Our good friend knows the chef there and he goes all the time. He loves it. I'm thinking of taking dh here for his birthday.

  • LOVE Sotto Sotto in Inman Park.  Rathbuns is always amazing.  Rosebud and Wysteria are both great if you want something less pricey.  Bones is our go-to "special dinner" spot but it is definitely more expensive.  Yum, now I'm starving!   =)

We love Nam on Monroe near Piedmont Park.  The shaking beef, banana-wrapped sea bass, and lemograss tofu are to die for (and I don't like tofu).  They don't really have dessert, but we often walk over to Apres Diem because they have Alon's desserts which are fabulous.

  • I just ate at 4th & Swift a few weeks ago with a girlfriend and it was super tasty. The chef likes to use local and sustainable ingredients on his very seasonal menu. The dining room is also conducive to having a nice little intimate dinner. It was the second time I'd been there.

Prices are mid-range and I think it would be great for an anniversary dinner.

It's in the Old 4th Ward (on North Ave. by the Masquerade).

  • If you decide you'd rather stick closer to home, 10 East Washington, off the square in Newnan, is wonderful!
