Labor Day Weekend in Portland?

We will be in Portland labor day weekend for my grandpa's bday party. Needless to say, MH isn't so thrilled to spend it anywhere but a lake. lol. Is there anything fun or interesting we should do? I've spent quite a bit of time up there, but really haven't seen a lot. TIA!
