Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How long until full-on walking?

DS has been walking with a walk-behind walker (or pushing his car toys or any other toy) for a full month now. He can easily walk while holding onto our hands, and has now started walking with just one of our hands (for quite a distance).

Any ideas of when I can expect him to walk? I know boys don't usually walk until 12-14 months but he seems to really want to walk sooner... or maybe he's just going to cruise for a long time?

Re: How long until full-on walking?

  • i would say it could be any day now.  ds had been pushing his truck and walking while holding on to a table for a good month, then all of a sudden he took a couple steps away w/o holding on to anything.

he made HUGE progress in a weeks time and is now almost running and doing very little crawling.  he's been walking for about 2 weeks now.

  • I'd say anytime now! DS was crusing around things and pushing toys for a little less than a month or so, and then he started full on walking just this week.  He's pretty stable and walks more than crawls now :)

  • Wow, I didn't expect him to really walk before a year old, but I guess he just might!
