Favorite frozen meals from TJ's or Whole Foods?

I am doing a grocery run to stock up on some freezer meals from Trader Joe's and can grab some from Whole Foods too. I am trying to have some easy meals for when LO arrives. I would love to hear what some of your fave selections have been. I shop there on occassion, but want to try new things too.

Thanks!

  • TJ's Veggie Masala Burgers, Chicken Potstickers...and their apple turnovers ($1.99!)

I never really got into frozen meals from WF because they're more expensive. I go there for the produce, yogurt and bread instead.

Same here. I've never bought a frozen meal there, just wondering if I've been missing anything! Thanks for the rec's at TJ's!

  • We generally don't eat anything prepared, but there a couple things I love!  I always have TJ's fried rice and shrimp gyoza's in my freezer (I saute the gyoza's in a pan).  I also love TJ's instant risotto when I don't want to make my own.  If you like shrimp, that is another thing I always make sure we have in the freezer. It defrosts in a few minutes, is very cheap and mixes well with just about anything.  I buy the peeled and uncooked from Target (cheapest and yummy).

Good idea to stock up on these types of things.  I am going to have to make a run in  a couple weeks as well.

  • I don't care for much of the frozen stuff at TJ's, however every week I buy the frozen Tilapia Citronetta and the frozen Mojito Salmon. They are so good and so easy. Just stick the box in the microwave - 8min defrost, 8min on high & and they taste really great! The chicken that comes in the same kind of microwave box - not so great.
  • TJ's frozen orange chicken is so good.  We like to keep a box of their precooked brown rice in the house in case we don't have time to stovetop cook the rice (but I can't remember if this is frozen or just shelf stable).  We love the pork gyoza.  Every frozen meal we've ever gotten from them has been good (and very affordable).

  • My favorite frozen item from TJs is a rice side dish - chimichurri rice.  It is delicious and all you have to do is microwave it.

I also like their frozen penne arrabiata.

Their frozen rice bowls are also nice if you need a meal for one.

  • we just had the TJ's meal with the polenta balls, veggies in spciy red cream sauce (not what it's called, but you'll figure it out).  very good, but tiny amount, i'd buy 2 bags
  • I shop at TJs all the time, WF not as much because they are more expensive.

I like their chicken tikka masala meal - it comes with cumin rice.

the orange chicken is good (I think someone already mentioned that)

there pizzas are ok but I usually end up sprusing them up with my own extra veggies and cheese.
