I thought of cretin too.

The -eigh part makes me want to pronounce it Creeton. Like the name Leigh, KWIM? But I see the other side too...like "neighbor".

ETA: I really like Beck though!

I think it will get pronounced wrong all the time, and he will be mistaken for a girl on paperwork because of the spelling.

I do not think it is an attractive name at all. It looks and sounds wrong to me. And I knew the correct pronunciation, but I still thought 'cretin.'

DD has a Creighton in her class, his is spelled Krayton. I prefer your spelling much more, It took me a little while to get used to it, but it definitely fits him. I really like how Creighton Beck flows.

It is MNS.  DH's cousin named her daughter Creighton.  Also, Creighton is a street in my neighborhood with historical houses so I have a tough time thinking of it as a first name.

LOL when I first saw it, I didn't even think of the word cretin, I immediately thought Krueger..as in Freddy

I went to college with a GIRL named Creighton... We had a lot of classes together and we worked together at an internship.  People were always mispronouncing her name like "cretin".
