Multiples

Consignment sale today

Today's is a KidzExchange sale, and I'm going to another on Saturday for multiples.

We haven't bought a thing yet but have completed our registries since my two showers will be in September, but if I can get some used stuff for CHEAP, I'm so down with it.

Things I already know to look out for are a single and double SNG stroller (we're doing both instead of one triplet stroller), the twin PNP, either of our "real" strollers we've picked out (though I doubt the Bumbleride Flite will be there!), cloth diaper covers, maybe some cheap toys and ...

any really good items I should keep an eye out for? I'm totally not concerned about clothes at this point - just looking for great deals on stuff.

  • I would be concerned about clothes. Even though we got a lot at our shower, it was no where near enough. They grow out of each size so quickly and some of the shower stuff was for the wrong season. So I would buy cheap clothes in all sizes (for each season) when ever you get the chance. That is what I am doing now.  You might end up with some sizes you dont use but the majority you will more than likely be able to use.

Other than that, I would look for items that are normally expensive new. (entertainment centers, swings)

  • I know the sales around here the last day everything is 1/2 off so that is when I go and get the clothes. Most baby clothes don't get to worn out since they are in them for such a short time.

We got a bumbo for $5 at a sale and some other things that were really cheap. I most of the time know what I am looking for and know the price of a new item to see if you are really saving anything. To me if you can by something for $5 more new then I would buy new, but if I can get $20 off used and it still looks good then I get it. GL shopping

  • I would look for sleepers (the footed zipper jammies) in small sizes because they will wear them a lot when they're teeny. and single pack n plays too. exersaucers and jumperoos too, if you have the room to store them, and SWINGS!

  • if you can get good sleep sacks, i'd pick some up.  we started using them alot around 6 mos ...no more swaddling.  we still use them!   halo makes lightweight ones ($20), and the heavier winter ones go for $35+ - swaddle designs makes great ones.
