using a last name (maiden) of MIL when her sisters still use the name??

My MIL's maiden name is an actual first name - and kinda unique, and one of the only names that my husband and I agree on as a possible boy's name.

But, would it be weird to use a name when 2 of her sisters actually have it as their current last name?

Thoughts?

I do not this it is weird, I think they will feel honored.  I have a friend who just named her baby boy her MIL's last name (Reese) and little Reese still has many family members with the last name Reese.

Connor's first name is MIL's maiden name (but we actually named him that because of DH's grandparents).  DH's uncle obviously still uses the name as his last name.  In that respect, Connor's middle name is also my mom's maiden name and her brother still obviously uses it as his last name.  So, it's not weird at all.  A great idea actually!

I like this....we have thought of using my maiden name as the first name of a boy if we have it.
