To go in stores I stopped when she was old enough to sit in the shopping cart, so about 6 month. In and out of daycare about 2 months ago, so she was about 15lbs - still manageable weight wise, but most babies are a lot bigger then that by then.
I stopped probably a month ago. She doesn't stay asleep when I move the carrier anyway, and she gets so hot in it. I put her in our ring sling or ergo. It isn't as hot and she likes looking around. The only time it isn't good is if I have to lift something really heavy.
After like two times of carrying the carseat, I stopped. I seriously felt like I was going to bust a gut. I've always just worn her when I have to drive somewhere.
Wait... that didn't sound right. Lemme rephrase.
I only use her stroller when I walk or go shopping across the street. If I actually have to drive somewhere, I put her in her carseat to get there then wear her.
I still carry him around in it if he is sleeping. I have to change car seats soon. Yesterday I got winded carrying him, he waits 21 lbs plus the car seat, it was just too much.

It doesn't get any better when you go up to the convertible either.
