However, the ladies ask that if you don't chart, don't post "ZOMG AF is 3 days late and I'm getting negative tests!" because unless you chart, there is nothing anyone on the board can do or say to help you other than consulting a magic 8-Ball or ute goggles.
Bingo.
They aren't asking to be meanie heads. You can't really know that you are "late" if you don't chart. No unmedicated cycle is "clockwork" - even if your period shows around the same time every month, you could ovulate all over the place. They ask to get a better understanding of your situation, to answer your question.
And inevitably the OP gets huffy because they aren't just being told "yes, you're preggo!"
The only reason I became "huffy" was not due to the answers I was getting, it was in response to a poster who made a rude comment as to why I wasn't sitting in front of the screen waiting for an answer. I stepped away for a half an hour and if you notice, aside from one poster after my last "huffy" post on that board, they are nothing but snide, sarcastic remarks.
Also, my main question on that post (and maybe it was the wrong board to post it on) was if anyone had had experiences with false negatives. I do appreciate all the advice and links for helping with charting though, thank you!

If you don't have time to wait for a response you should either 1) post when you do have time 2) include a "sorry, this is a post and run" in the post itself.
It is rude to ask people to take time out to answer your question when you aren't going to stick around and wait for the responses. That is true on every board on this site. Post and runs are universally not appreciated.
Good luck getting things figured out. I don't know if this helps at all (because everyone's body is different, obviously), but I was not charting when I got my BFP and still got it a day after I expected my period. I used a FRER test. I had gotten a negative a few days before that using a ClearBlue digital. Some of the tests have higher sensitivity and will read positive earlier. Most say you should wait until at least a week after you expected your period to get a positive.
On the whole charting thing: I think it works great for some people. It was not working for me, because I was so consumed with it that I was stressed all the time. I visited my doctor for my annual checkup in May, and she suggested that I just continue tracking my periods but try the "counting" method instead and just enjoy trying rather than stressing myself out. We got pregnant the next month.

OK, first of all, I'm so sorry for not knowing the "rules." I've posted on other forums before and not gotten a response either at all or for an extended period of time. Second of all, this isn't a chat room it's a message board. If I have to walk away to take care of something else and come back to my question, I have that right. I didn't "post and run," my laptop was very much opened with this website up and ready when something came up that I needed to take care of.
I'm just going to end this here because it's obvious we all have our own opinions on message board etiquette. But again, a thank you to all who gave helpful advice! I hope to be back here soon with a BFP!
Re: F/U to a previous post- Another BFN

Anyway, best of luck, OP. Hope you get your BFP!
