We just have this big box of 101 cookie cutters. It has large, medium, and small ones - all shapes and sizes (letters, numbers, holidays, basic shapes, etc.). It was under $20 at Wal-Mart.
I have something similar to MamaNikki's that I got from Oriental Trading.
I use the smaller ones more often - something so that I can make 2 punches from the same piece of bread to make a sandwich with little waste. We use the bird from Oriental Trading a lot, and the squirrel and snail from Ikea.
I also really like a set of hearts in about 5 sizes that is made by Wilton. I also use a Wilton leaf very often - found it at Michael's in the cake decorating section. I have my eye out for the same type of a thing in stars.

We have this set and I got it from Bed, Bath, and Beyond with a 20% off coupon. We use them for painting, playdoh, etc. We aren't quite ready for the cute food ideas, or maybe I am just too pregnant to be interested in making cute foods now, but at some point I will use them for that too.
Re: Where did you get your small cookie cutters and which do you use most?
I picked some small ones up at Target in their summer clearance. I've also seen even smaller ones at Michael's by their regular cookie cutters.
