My girls are 21 months apart and very, very close. They currently go to the same daycare and are both in the preschool program - my little one in the Preschool 1 class for 2 1/2 to 3 year olds and my older DD in the 4 year old room. They see each other a lot during the day as their time outside over lapse and when numbers are low, the classes often get combined. I ahve been told often by their teachers how excited and happy they get when they see each other and they are often playing together when I arrive for pick-up. The challenge is that in 3 weeks from yesterday my older DD starts Pre-K at a new school. The program is excellent, run by the public schools and located at the elementary school. My older DD is very excited to start but both girls have told me they will be sad to be not see each other during the day.
I know they will will both adjust and do great - just looking for any tips from anyone who has been through this sort of thing and wondering if you did anything to help with the adjustment. We already have planned to alternate who I pick up first so that they each get to see where the other person is all day.
