My DD is 28 months and still uses it to fall asleep at night (and sometimes naps). She has two-year molars breaking through now, and if her paci helps her sleep through that, I'm in no rush to take it away.
We've tried to take it away a few times. One night, I just told her I'd buy her a stuffed animal if she didn't use it. She slept through the whole night without it. I thought it was soooo easy. Next few nights after that ... she screamed bloody murder until I gave in.
With No. 2 on the way ... we'll take it away soon and give her time to adjust before she starts seeing them around the house again.
Good luck. I think it would have been easier if we started the process younger--before she could ask for it. I'm weak.
Congrats on being preggo again. Me too! And i agree, i'm taking it away way sooner. Its harder these days considering at the hospital they shove it into their mouth the second they are born and they are addicted.
