Twins!! 2 Cribs or one?

I just found out I am pregnant with Twins... My mother in law thinks we should only use one crib for a while.

 

Is this normal for twins?  I feel that we should get two cribs so they don't ever bump into each other...

 

Any thoughts?

Congratulations! I would definetly get another crib.

My cousin had twins and got two cribs and the boys cried because they were so used to being together.  She ended up using one crib.  I don't know if this is normal though.  I would ask this question on the multiples board.
