Seperation Anx in the middle of the night

What is this all about and how long does it last?  My DD recently started a mothers morning out program. The past few nights she has been waking up in a panic. I go in and nothing is wrong. I hold her for a minute then lay her back down and all is good again. It has been happening like 2x a night.  She has always slept through the night so this is very odd for her.  Should I let her CIO longer or go in a reassure her?

Re: Seperation Anx in the middle of the night

  • If you figure out how to stop this, I would love to know! My son is doing the same thing. Sometimes a diaper change helps (more so for the distraction, I think), if he can't be calmed, sometimes I give him a bottle (he's growing a like a weed these days)--but I've backed off of the bottle because I don't want that to become a habit, especially since this "phase" is lasting longer than i'd like it to. Good luck, hopefully STTN will resume soon, at both of our houses!
