Ikea crib question...

I know a bunch of you have Ikea cribs.  We are most likely going with them for our girls.  Silly question... can you use a crib skirt/dust ruffle thing with these cribs?  My MIL offered to buy the bedding set we like, but if we can't use the crib skirt and other stuff then we'll just get the sheets.  So I am just curious.  TIA!

we have the leksvik and when the mattress was up higher we could use the crib skirt- but once we dropped the mattress to the bottom- we could not use it anymore (which i'm sad about b/c i made them myself and really liked them- oh well).

i wouldn't waste money on an expensive bedding set anyway - since you shoudlnt' use the blanket or bumpers... just get a coordinating crib skirt, sheets and breathable bumpers - and you'll be good - decorate with artwork, etc... not bedding. it's not worth it.

We like the Hensvik crib and the Gulliver.  My MIL is very into the whole bedding set and really wants to buy it for us.  DD uses the blanket from her playset to play on and we figure this winter she'll use it as a blanket.  We actually put the bumpers back in this past winter because her crib was next to two outside walls that got cold.

we haven't tried crib skirts with the gulliver. we just got sheets and breathable bumpers.
