twinkle toes?

My child?s happiness or hideously ugly shoes? Anyone else?s child ask for these?  Does anyone own any? How much?

Re: twinkle toes?

  • My mom just bought some for DD the other day.  DD picked them out, not only do they have the bling on them, they light up too.  You need sunglasses to look at her now.  I wasn't a fan but they are kinda cute.  They were expensive (too me) $40.  I wouldn't necessarily spend that much on her shoes unless money wasn't an issue.

  • $38, Kohls.

I bought them because she had a pair given to her last  year that she lurved, and they were getting small. I NEVER spend that much on shoes; I always go to 6pm.com and get really nice shoes for $15., or a local children's store.

Happiness. Get the ones that don't light up. There are gradients of bling/tacky, and there are some that only have "rhinestones" on the toes, no glitter on the shoe, just a design.

they are her nice shoes, so no wearing them to DC, only weekends.

And seriously, when she wears them, someone always tells her how cute her shoes are, and she loves it.

  • I think they are adorable
  • Didn't you see my FB post?  The girls picked these Twinkle Toes (from Sketchers right?).  They are most hideously awful shoes, but the girls love them.  Lana has the pink glitter ones that light up.  Calli's are denim and have fish and random stuff on them.  They love love love them.  Have worn them every day since Saturday even though it's like 107 outside and they hate shoes.  Whatever it takes to get them in closed toed shoes for school...  We got them at Rack Room Shoes where it's buy one get one half off.  I think it was $55 for both (one was $40 and the other was $30 and then 1/2 off), but I can't remember for sure.  We also get them brown little dress shoes they can wear for days they wear skirts and dresses.  I'll find the pic of the shoes and post it for you later.

ETA - Here's a pic of the girls' shoes:

  • I wasn't willing to spend that much. But at Kohl's they had some like them that were $12.99. DD LOVES them and wanted them so badly, I let her get them.

She's in Heaven. Not what I would have chosen, but I think they'll be really cute with jeans.

  • I love them, and if I could find a pair in dd's size that have laces I will be getting her a pair.  Of course, my child wears her disney princess dress up shoes out on a daily basis and we let her, so I may not be the best judge. It makes her feel good.

Missed the FB pic.   I checked them out at the Shoe Dept today.  I think DD would like the pink sparklely light up ones best.  They were 37 but bogo 1/2 off.  I need to get her a pair of mary janes for fall anyway.  Just seeing what others paid.   Might add them as part of her birthday gift...is that lame, shoes for part of her birthday gift?  She has been asking for them....for months!

they have the lace one's at Sears.

  • I think they're awful but DD wants them - so they are our bargaining chip.  14 nights in a row of dry pullups and she gets a pair.

She hasn't had a dry night yet this month, it'll be a while.

  • Oh, I will have to check Sears then.  I am convinced that the reason kids I know  can't tie their shoes is because of velcro.  DH thinks I am a whacko, but I make dd get sneakers that lace up. Unfortunatley she still wears toddler sizes at almost 5 so it's hard to find them.
  • I think they are adorable.  My MIL bought them for her, for $40.  I recently saw in the Kmart flyer ones that look identical for $9.99.

Shoes are never a lame birthday gift...especially not the "sparkly-est shoes ever" (as L put it).  I think both girls would have gotten the pink light up ones, but I convinced them to get different shoes.  Last year was a nightmare trying to figure out which shoes were whose and this year even more so since they're only a size apart.  I told them they could share back and forth anyway.

  • Here's a less busy (and cheaper alternative) that still gives you some sparkle.  Converse from Target.  I bought them for my youngest dd.

  • Mom to J (10), L (4), and baby #3 arriving in July of 2015
  • All the neighborhood girls have these and lurve them. Skechers totally hit the mark on these. All the girls lust after them.

  • She and DD#1 can be twins.  DD#1 will be sooooooooooo excited when I tell her.
  • I caved and bought them for DD after she saw my niece has them. She LOVES them. I make her wear them everywhere so they will get yucky/worn faster.
