Deep fried Butter?

Did anyone see msn's homepage of weird fried foods?  Deep fried butter? Is this really a Texas fair favorite?????

lol, I heard this on the radio for the fair yesterday and thought it was the grossest thing ever.  I said to myself that I would rather never eat again then try that once.

I have heard of this before. It's probably the most repulsive "food" I've ever heard of. Talk about a heart attack waiting to happen!

AAAAHHHH!! I had it last year at the state fair! Deep Fried Butter is not really an accurate name.  It's more like a deep fried buttery biscuit-y donut-y thing.  It's really just bread, and whatever you put on top of it, like a fruit topping or garlic. It was tasty, but I wouldn't wait in line for it again as long as I did last year. Funnel cake is better.

They deep fry snickers and coca-cola at the Texas fair as well!! It's famous there. I love my coke the way it is though, cold and caffeinated. lol

This. They've also featured fried Twinkies, fried Coca-Cola, fried Snickers bars, and other fried "favorites." I tried the Twinkies, and they were...meh. I stick with the funnel cake at the Texas state fair, indeed.

Ooooohhh...I forgot about that. My husband got that when I got the butter stuff. It is droolworthy.

This post has me longing for cooler weather and the fair, which I probably won't be able to go to this year.

Ok my heartburn just started up... where are my tums?!?! 

Never had any of that except for a funnel cake... dumb question: how do you have fried coca cola? logistically I'm confused!

I have lived in Texas for 24 years and have never been to the State Fair. Food seems to be the main attraction, but when I hear about all the deep fried stuff (coke, twinkies, snickers, BUTTER) I want to gag and it completely takes away any desire to go.
