Natural Birth

Can I just say....

that I love "listening" to you ladies??

I am mostly a "lurker" and rarely post, but I love reading the posts on this boards simply because everyone is so open, honest, and TOLERANT!

You each have your own beliefs, and its obvious that not everyone shares the same ideas, but you all seem to be open to new thoughts and continue to be supportive of one another.

 Thank you for that!

I'm hoping to have a natural birth, but live in an area without many options aside from a hospital birth. Your posts continue to give me the motivation to move forward.

So just thanks for being here and sharing your hearts and minds on the matter!

  • Dont worry, many of us are planning a natural birth in a hospital!  There is no reason to give up on your desire to go natural just because you will be delivering in a hospital!  You'll hear a lot of horror stories about delivering in a hospital, but there are just as many POSITIVE natural birth experiences in a hospital setting as well.  It just means you have to pick the right OB/MW and perhaps will have to push a little harder for what you want with the hospital staff.  I for one am actually looking forward to our hospital birth :)

  • I am also doing a hospital birth!  Lucky for me, mine seems very "natural friendly," each room has it's own birthing ball, whirlpool tub, etc.  Most suggest that you labor at home as long as you can, then just go in and deliver your baby!  Good luck with whatever you decide!

  • I had a natural birth in the hospital with my first.  My birth story is here: https://infinitesimalchange.blogspot.com/2009/09/evelyns-birth-story-unabridged-version.html
  • I had a great natural birth in a hospital (story here).

My best friend also had a great natural birth in a Dallas area hospital.  She's going to a birth center for #2.  Not sure where in DFW area you are, but there may be other options.
