So this Hand, Foot, and Mouth thing...

Its been 9 days that we've been quarantined and Sam still has open mouth sores on his tonsils. 

It may be a mild illness, but its a huge PITA!

I've been out to Target and the grocery store w/o them and we took them for a car ride yesterday.

I did take them both to a jewelry store today because I thought we were done with it.  I didn't realize the mouth sores were there still until dinner when Sam asked for oatmeal because his mouth was hurting.  They look really painful!!

Max seems to be ok.  He had spots everywhere-hands,feet, mouth, butt and cried for a while everytime he ate, but now he is better and all signs of the rash are almost gone.  I'm sure its normal, but Sam's entire tonsils are so red from the ulcers that I am wondering if I should take him in.  (No, neither have gone to the pedi yet.)

I might take him in. What if it has tonsilitis or something. I hate when our kids get sick.

I may.  The ulcers look as bad as the day he got them almost a week ago.

my college roomie had this ... for 2 wks she had problems eating and her hands were sore... ugh!  I feel for your dc!  Hope he's staying comfortable.

I had ds2 at the pedi for this today! Damn pool water! Je has the ulcers on his tonsils and back of mouth. He is in pain. I have been giving motrin and lots of popsicles! Poor kid! Hope this crap leaves both our houses ASAP!!!!

DS's rash and sores didn't clear up for two weeks.  It was awful.  Hope your little guy feels better soon!

Do they still have fevers?  Are you sure they are still contagious?  The doc told us the sores would last for awhile but they were not contagious once the fever had been gone for 3 days.

No, no fevers.  I called this am and talked to the nurse and she said it was fine to talk them out in public and around other kids.  I guess they may have been fine a few days ago, but I was concerned because Max still had fluid filled blisters until Sunday.  I probably should have called sooner, now that I think about it!

Today we lived life as normal and it was so nice!
