We have the Garanimals soft blocks from Walmart. Jaiden has been playing with them for a few months now, but only now does he really play with them properly. Before, he would mostly just try to eat them lol.
I just recently bought these from Target and Max enjoys playing with them but I am not sure when he should start playing with wooden blocks!
I was going to recommend these blocks!! I bought them about a month ago for DD and she LOVES them. She knows you're supposed to stack them from watching me do it, but she can't stack them herself yet. She loves to knock them over after I stack them. She plays with them all the time.
I think at this age all they would do is chew on wooden blocks.
DS loves his blocks. I must build 2848 towers each day for him to knock over. He will be playing clear across the room and drop everything if he sees a tower going up and procede to crawl at lightning speed to come destroy it.

I was wondering this too!

You're not behind. Relax!
DD has three soft blocks from Baby Einstein that she likes to chew on. I've looked at wooden blocks, but most of them are for ages 2 and up.
DD also has these and loves them. I highly recommend them!
