DD is 6 weeks old and exclusively formula fed. My concern is about her pooping. She has not in 3 days, but is passing gas just fine.... I gave read its normal for her to go a couple of days, but no longer than 2 or 3...

 What can I do to stimulate her bowel movements? Or should I not be concerned about it yet?

i'd let the pedi know what's going on. it is somewhat common for babies to get constipated which isn't a big deal, but i think it's still something worth letting the dr know. they'd also be able to tell you what you can do to break that poop up! good luck!

I know our pedi says 3 is ok, but to call on day 4 if still nothing.  I wouldn't try to stimulate any BM's without talking to your pedi.

I called the Pedi and he said to try giving her a little bit of water. Also, told me not to worry, because its normal for them not to have BM for a week. 

If she doesn't have a BM by the end of the week I will call them back!

my lo just had same problem. i did 1/2 oz water and 1/2 oz apple juice. after a few hours it worked. also u can do a rectal temp.

Our pedi said to try taking DS's temp rectally and if that didn't work to try half a glycerin suppository. We usually give him Enfamil Premium, and since I wasn't a fan of putting things in DS's butt we tried Gerber Good Start Gentle (recommended by our primary care) for a day and DS went back to normal. Now when he starts to get stopped up we give him the Good Start for one or two feedings and he is fine.

Be prepared for LO to eat more often on the Good Start though, it's pre-digested so it takes less time to get through.

I'd call your pedi, ours said that we should call if DS hasn't gone at least once in 48 hours.  I wouldn't give LO anything to try to bring on a bm unless you have spoken to the pedi first.

Bicycle Legs... I stuck a thermometer up her butt about an inch and she went within 2-4 hours.
