Day before babies and DH isn't sure about the name...

Seriously. We decided on Carter James and Elise Nicole months ago. Then last night DH goes to me, "I'm not 100% sold on Carter."

Ugh! Carter is the only boys name we have agreed on since we concieved DD. And he has only given me one other name he likes (Braylon), which I did not like.

I started coming up with other names, and he was like, No we will go with Carter.

So do I just say fine and go with it and chalk it up to his cold feet.

  • I think I would shoot my husband if he changed his mind at that point! I say stick with Carter. I would be too nervous about picking something now that you hadn't at least had on a short list! (But I was also a complete freak about the naming process, so maybe you should ignore my opinions all together.)

Oh, and I'm not crazy about Braylon, either. I much prefer Carter. FWIW.

  • I would say just stick with Carter. I'm not really crazy about Braylon either, but it's totally up to you! At this point, it's the only name you've agreed on and if he's not bringing any other names to the table, then he can't complain!Stick out tongue lol (especially the day before you have the babies) Also, my niece's name is Alyse Nicole ( similar, very pretty name you chose!) :)

  • I'm with you.  Carter is much nicer than Braylon.

Did he say WHY he's not sold on it?  It sucks if he just said that and offered no reason why.

Unless he can give you a really good reason, I'd go with it.  But you want to make sure he's happy with it too.

He is worried that it won't have a good nickname. Seriously.

  • I'd just stick with Carter, but if he comes out and doesn't look like a Carter, maybe have the discussion about another name then.

OMG, that is too funny.  What would his nn be if you went with Braylon?  Bray?  As in, what a donkey does?  Not much better!

I don't get deciding on nn.  I always thought a nn was something you were given as you grew up and people got to know you.  It wasn't necessarily something to do with your actual name.

You can always tell him you'll name the baby Carterson and his nn could be Carter!  Stick out tongue

Hahhahah, sorry my DH did the EXACT same thing, for the EXACT same reason!! We stuck with our orginal name (Tripp) because there was no way I was changing it the day before. One argument I had was to ask what his nickname is (a play on our last name) and then pointed out Tripp would probably get the same nickname....
