Have you been to a Permanency Conference? We have one scheduled for August 19th for our Foster Baby. Just wondering what to expect.

Yep! They will just ask the foster parents for an update on the child. That's about the extent of what you get to say, unless you're like my husband, who has balls of steel and goes to bat for the kids ALL THE TIME! They're easy, but time consuming.

We actually have one on Friday which I don't think will be extremely easy this time.  It looks like CPS will ask that their permanency plan be changed to reunification and we are trying to block that right now.  Usually they are very quick and easy.

Thanks, I appreciate your response. This is our first foster child, so we have not been through the process before. We just keep hoping the state will continue to act in the best interest of the child.

GAPeach, good luck with that! Our idea of the best interest of the child is always (most of the time) very different than the state's idea, unfortunately.
