So I got up from lunch today and ended up with a trickle of fluid down my leg. Not a major gush, but enough to get my pants wet to my knee. Definitely not urine as I was not in need of going and it did not have urine odor. The nurse is having me monitor and see if it continues or gets more since I have an appointment already scheduled tomorrow morning.
If your water did break on its own was it a "slow" water leak or just gush?
Contractions are staying steady at 8-10 min apart so no major increase on those yet.
Thanks for any insight...it gets frustrating to be in "partial" labor!
Re: Water break experiences
With my first DS it was a trickle, I woke up in the middle of the night, thought I peed my pants, changed & went back to bed. I even went to work the next morning but realized I hadn't really peed my pants because my pants were completely wet when I got to work too. With my twins, I was in the hospital for dehydration & contractions. They were releasing me, so I went into the bathroom to get dressed and soon as I stood up water just started flowing down my leg. So I have never had a huge gush but a trickle and a slow flow I have had. When I had my twins I wasn't sure at that specific moment that it was my water breaking so the nurse tested it. If you aren't sure ask them to test it, it's just a swab test.
Mine was a pop and then a gush that kept gushing every time I moved. I had to walk around the house gathering things and sit in the car with a beach towel stuck under my dress.
They have a strip they can use to figure out whether it's amniotic fluid. Can they see you this afternoon?
Pop and a huge gush, then me standing in a puddle of clear liquid. I had to sit on the toilet for almost an hour before we left for the hospital because every time I would move after that more would pour out of me. I ended up wearing the thickest maxi pad I could find in the house and sitting on a trash bag lined with towels in the car.
Good luck! Hope you get some answers soon.
