Overheard stranger comments yesterday...

I went to my cousin's wedding yesterday and as I was waddling down the hall some ladies were commenting "She looks miserable...". I wanted to shout "And I've got another 3 months AT LEAST left!" I do look very awkward. I'm only 4'10" and I'm huge. I walk kinda sway-back now too. Sometimes I just don't know what to say to people!

  • I always came up with really great comebacks - like an hour later!

  • I was at a wedding 2 weeks ago at 27 weeks. I was wearing heels and a nice mat dress, looking and feeling pretty damn good if I do say so myself. It was early in the night at the reception and I was making my way to the bathroom (go figure) and some elderly woman grabbed my arm with both of her hands and yelled "My dear! you need to sit down! People are going to worry about you!"  I was pretty surprised and a bit scared b/c she had the death grip on my arm, but re-assured her that I was doing quite fine and didn't need to sit down. I constantly need to tell people that I'm pregnant, not disabled. Nice for people to be concerned but really I can take care of myself.

  • Aww.  Don't let people get to you!  I know it's easier said than done.

In a way, I was glad to be on bedrest for the last 3 months of my pregnancy so I avoided a lot of those rude pregnant comments.  Unfortunately, it doesn't end with the pregnancy.  Once the twins are here, be prepared to be stopped, talked about, stared at etc. when you're out with them.

Oh and btw - your daughter is absolutely beautiful!!
