I've been lurking for a little while and will continue to, but I just wanted to share that thought.

I probably belong on the Babies on the Brain board - DH and I won't begin to TTC for at least another year - but this board is far more interesting.  My pregnancy/childbirth fascination started about 6 months ago with a few questions (I think one was how does the body know how to 'finish' the pregnancy after a c-section) and I left the bookstore with 'Pushed.'  I devoured that book and 'Born in the USA' in a weekend and have also read 'Baby Catcher' - an awesome book even if you're aren't obsessed with babies. 

So, now I'm a closet advocate for natural birth (women's rights!) and all the info I'm picking up because I'm interested will be put to good use eventually.  The natural birth stories are also fascinating and empowering.  DH and my mom could care less about all the cool stuff I'm learning about, so maybe this post is therapy :P

Thanks ladies for a cool board and I'll just keep lurking :)

    Isn't it so cool? I love that there is a place to go and freely discuss natural birth without all the IRL or tri board naysayers chiming in.

    I've done a lot of cool things in my life IMHO. Having a home birth/med free birth is at the top of the list.

    Good luck with TTC and hopefully we see you here when it is your time.

    You would love the documentary "The Business of Being Born" I bought it from itunes and watched it on my computer. 

    Another good read is "Mothering" magazine....... good luck and hope to see you back here and preggo soon :)

    It is really cool to see you take such an interest and start educating yourself early!  I think more women should do what you do.  Our society too often jumps right on the drug band-wagon and doesn't even think about how we are affecting our precious LO who we've spent 9 months protecting.  The US has the 2nd highest newborn death rate in the developed world!  I can't believe more people don't take the time to research the most important decision they will ever make for their children.
