I've been poking around the website and community boards for a few weeks now and figured it was time I said 'hello!' before I started posting.
DH and I have been married almost 1 year (together for 6.5 years in all) and it has been long distance for the last 2 years and change - but all that is coming to an end later this month I promised DH at least one year of wedded bliss, just the two of us (together!), so no TTC yet. Funny side story - he told this to some friends over dinner and called me in a small panic afterward. Of course I could wait a year, his friend's wife had said, I would be pregnant 9 of those 12 months! He wanted to confirm that being pregnant was not a part of that wedded bliss I had promised
That isn't to say DH doesn't want kids. We are on the same page, wanting 2 or 3 kids and wanting to be younger parents (I asked 'dog, cat or kids?' before the wedding and my pet lover DH said 'kids.') We are both 25 and I've been saying I want all my kids before I'm 30 for years. But after the wedding, it must have dawned on me that 30 isn't too far away! I have become really interested in pregnancy and childbirth, starting from some simple questions I had 6 months ago and growing into, well, an interest.
And all this info I'm taking in will be put to good use eventually
Re: New to The Bump
I know what you mean about comments other people make about pregnancy. My Husband and I want to spend some time enjoying our married life, purchasing our house and getting ourselves in the best possible situation prior to having a baby. But, it seems as though other people don't understand it and keep telling us that we'll give in and have one soon. It's frustrating!
That being said, I have a lot of friends pregnant or with newborns and I am getting a bit clucky now!
Best of luck to you and your hubby.
