I know we've had a lot of posts about 1st birthday gifts, but what about for the 2nd? We got the wagon and water table last year. We have a million cars, trucks, and balls already. Everyone keeps asking me what to get Owen and I have no good ideas. I am planning to go to TRU this weekend and look for inspiration. The only thing I'm really considering is a tricycle. I also don't know where I am going to put new toys in this house. I think its time for another sort before his party.
Re: What to get for 2nd birthday?
New books. We had really read through most of his 1yr books so we asked to add to his 2 year old library. I donated the board books to the library. He also got a train set to go on his table. Other than that it was mostly books, more cars, and balls.
I am with you on the "have to much stuff". I just cleaned out two boxes of toys and passed them on and still feel like I could edit back again.
Evies big gifts were a tricycle and a train set.
Ideas for others: blocks, legos, books, cars, coloring and art supplies....
For Aerin's birthday, she is getting a pink tricycle and food for her kitchen. We are going to tell others not to bring gifts because we are overloaded with toys.
One item that my little boy loved was a tool bench. We have the Home Depot one. That would make a nice big present.

An art easel with the paper roll on the top. Ours is dry erase on one side and a chalk board on the other and then you can roll the paper down on top of the dry erase side.
