He'll be discharged shortly with some Vicodin after five HOURS at the doctor's office and ER.
It's an inflammation of the tissue surrounding the lungs, very painful. Doctors said it could hang on for a while, but the pain should lessen within the next few days.
Thank god it's nothing worse, though I know he's in a lot of pain.
And yes, thanks again for all your prayers, thoughts and kind words. AGAIN. I really do believe in the power of good energy!
Re: Pleurisy it is
yeah!!!
seriously, that is some PAINFUL crap......the vicodin or percoset I took barely made it manageable.
but hospitals and doctors are big time into better safe than sorry, so I'm glad they tested and checked everything!!!!
I'm glad you guys know what it is. I hope he gets some relief.
My mom had that she spent time in the ER as well. Thank goodness it wasn't anything worse.
I hope he feels better soon and keep him doped up.
My DH has had that. He said it was really difficult to breathe if he was laying down flat. If you have a reclining chair, that would be the best place for your DH to sleep. Hope he feels better this morning.
I missed any updates--do they now think your DD has pleurisy as well, since she also had chest pain? How is she feeling?
Nora is still doing great, thanks for asking. No further incidents and we have an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist at Children's here on Aug. 19.
They didn't think her case was pleurisy because they didn't find any inflammation in her lung tissue when they took X-rays in the ER.
