I have loved Scarlett for years, due in no small part to Gone With the Wind. However, it's becoming too popular for my tastes and I fear it will be associated with Scarlett Johansson.
The way you're spelling it, with one "T" is actually nice, because it puts me in mind more of the color than the pop-culture associations.
I thought Scarlett was her first name, not a surname in Gone with the Wind. Scarlett O' Hara?
I could be mistaken, but that's what I recalled.
Yeah, sorry I skipped a step - Scarlett got her name from her grandmother's maiden name, and in the book, it was her middle name (Katie Scarlett O'Hara)
This is me and DH's top name for a girl, but our problem is finding a middle name that goes well with it. Let me know if you think of one! Also, I we prefer Scarlet with one "t". Good luck!
Re: Scarlet
This. I love the name, but I would spell it Scarlett! Great name though.

I love it, but I much prefer Scarlett.
I like it okay - there's Scarlet the color, and then there's Scarlett the surname (a la Gone from the Wind).
And it's okay - I'm addicted to Behind the Name and Name Berry.
