I don't need another thing to stress about! When I was going through the cancer scare I couldn't eat, sleep, yada yada. My primary doc gave me Xanax .5 to take every eight hours. I basically took it at night to sleep and just a few times throughout the day. Obviously I was downing them on Tuesday as I went through all the diagnostics. Well, this got me thinking about ttc and pregnancy so I started looking around. I have found some conflicting info but it seems that it's a cause of birth defects if used during pregnancy. I have only found one site stating it is detectable in urine for one week after using. So, would you be concerned of usage close to ovulation time? I know, it is probably needless worry but it's how I work. If my body is being normal I would have ovulated either Wednesday or even through today.
Re: Your thoughts please...
I think you're okay, personally.
Most of what I am reading is saying that it should be out of your system now, and is only a danger during pregnancy. Don't forget, if you conceive now, the baby doesn't get anything from you for a few more weeks anyway.
Oh, you mean like when I twisted to pull Scout's new pillow out of the car and freaked because I might have prevented my non-existent embryo from implanting?
We are all nutcases.
This. I think you are definitely fine. (((hugs))) It sucks that you have to worry about this stuff (which, ironically, was supposed to help you not worry!).
All of this! LOL. i think after everything you go thru we all become a little nutso.
::lurking from TTCAL:
I was taking an anti-depressant a couple of years ago and was extremely concerned about side effects during pregnancy. My doctor suggested I contact Dr.Zachary Stowe. He established the Women's Mental Health Program at Emory University in Atlanta and specializes in the use of psychiatric medications during pregnancy. I stopped using the anti-depressant before I had a chance to call so I don't know exactly the process but from what my doctor said, you should be able to call to at least get some questions answered. Here's the link to their website with the contact information Emory's Women's Mental Health Program
I hope this helps find the answers you want.
