I think its nice, never actually known someone by that name so it doesn't come off preppy to me. Reminds me of Blair.. that actually would go well with Betty IMO

I agree. I haven't hear anyone names that IRL and although it isn't something I would choose it's not horrible. It odly reminds me of Blair as well.
Didn't Blythe come up in a post yesterday? It's okay - I appreciate the AofGG reference, and the word, Blithe. It has a good meaning, and then there was the 1970s Blythe fashion doll. I wouldn't use it personally, but I wouldn't side-eye someone who did.
I like it. Gwenyth Paltrow's moms name is Blythe...although you may know that, since she's also an actress. But everytime I see her I think she's just beautiful and classy. I love it.

I would classify it as preppy, but that's not why I hate it. I don't object to you naming your daughter Blythe because it is a legitimate, familiar feminine name, but I cannot even express how much I dislike it. So, I'll leave it at that--nothing wrong with it; if you love it, go for it.
I don't care that its preppy, I just really do not like it... I don't think its very pretty at all, and it definitely doesn't live up to Betty Claire, which is cute and feminine.
As an aside, I really like Blair from the above posts... I think thats a little more classy and pretty than Blythe.

Re: Thoughts on Blythe for a girl?
I've always liked this name. I think it's a classic. Uncommon but not weird.
Your little girl is Betty, right? I think the names are cute together.
