Pomegranate juice?

I had read on the newbie info thread the following:

"Pomegranate juice can help to thicken your lining which would help with implantation.  Pom brand juice is expensive, try Minute Maid Blueberry Pom.  Please avoid other blends, most don?t contain enough real pom to help your lining.  If you don?t like the flavor, try adding some sparkling water.  Drink 8oz of juice a day from CD1-O.  You can drink it past ovulation, but it won?t impact your lining at that point."

 This leaves me with a couple of questions that I hope aren't annoying. When DH and I went the other night to do some TTC item shopping, I could not for the life of me find Minute Maid Blueberry Pom. The only thing I could find was Ocean Spray brands, so I got Ocean Spray Blueberry Pom, which fortunately tastes OK. The only thing is, I have NO clue how to know how much pomegranate juice is actually in it or how much I need in order for it to be helpful. Does anyone know if that brand and type of juice is helpful for thickening the lining?

My other question is that it mentions drinking 8 oz. of the juice each day from CD1 till O, but if you drink more than that, does it help any more? TIA!

I'm not positive on Ocean Spray...I don't see why not, but don't quote me on that. Minute Maid is sold in the refrigerated section (by the OJ). I couldn't figure that out for awhile too!

I would stick to 1-2 cups/day.

The best advice I have is to go to a healthfood store and buy it... it'll be 100% pom juice or go to your grocery store and buy the brand POM... the bottle is shaped like a snowman.  Avoid all of the blends completely and go for the good stuff!

You can get 100% POM juice at Costco! And it's great! My Finace drinks it all the time, I wonder if that helps the swimmers!

Thanks, ladies! I'll definitely try to find the PM brand pomegranate juice next time so it'll be better for me.  

Babydust -- Oh thank you!! I did not even think to look in the refrigerated section back there (I did check the refrigerated produce section), so I bet that's where the POM juice is, too!

You guys have been a big help; thanks again! I'll check back at the local store in the refrigerated section for POM juice, and if I can't find it there will check a health food store. Will also definitely not drink more than 2 cups a day.

Hmm...I have been drinking the Minute Made blueberry pom juice and it is okay but I'm not super excited about the amount of calories/sugar in it. I am going to check out the health food stores - would Trader Joe's have POM brand or any other 100% pom juice?

I've been getting 100% pomegranate juice at Publix if you have one near you.  It's $5.99 a bottle, but it's the same size bottle as the Ocean Spray!  I don't remember the brand name though.

I just get the 100% POM juice and mix it with an equal amount of Sprite.

I bought some today and had a sip when i got home. YUCK!!  lol  I think i will be mixing it with sprite like another girl said. I'm about on CD 10 so it probably won't have any affect this month so i'll definitly try it starting on CD 1 next month if nothing happens this month.

Have anyone here read the studies that show pomegranite given to female rats REDUCES conception by 50% and by 100% in guinea pigs? 

I realize that humans aren't rats or guinea pigs but I think I'd be a bit worried with this type of study.  JMHO
