one expensive pee stick (costs of things mentioned)

after writing the above I thought that it sounded like I could be posting a BFP announcement b/c of how much the past 2.5 years have cost . but obviously not - cd6 anyone??

BUT rather, I just got breakdown of my lap/hys - just the hospital portion - not even the doctor (haven't seen that one) or anasthesiologist (that was $1300 on it's own) (thank goodness for my insurance ..  yikes): $4877.71, the most astounding cost on the breakdown to me wasn't the drugs, cost of OR room, it was the cost of: 

"urine pregnancy test $21.31"

Don't they know they can just go to the dollar store or online??

m/c#1 07/16/08 (11 weeks), m/c#2 10/10/08 (8 weeks). and then nothing since except every test possible (no answers). IUI#1 and #2: BFNs Super lucky to be buddies with Peetie. Our out of nowhere, surprise DD born 5/29/2011

    Seriously.

    I was charged $900 for the Recovery Room.

    That I spent all of ten minutes in because I woke up, demanded to use the bathroom, bolted the ginger ale and crackers and got the hell out of there.

    I know the routine by now.

    The urine pregnancy test at my OB's office is $15.  I threw a fit after my D&C when coming and peeing was my "follow up," because I could have done that at home for $1.  I refused to pay and made them file it with insurance, and it was taken care of.  It really blows.

    That is crazy, but I wonder if that's how much it costs to have a well trained nurse look at a cup of pee. Not that it makes sense or anything.
