I didn't deliver @ St. Joe's rather @ AAMC, but the tour was part of the basic birth class I took, which I found to be helpful. It wasn't lamaze-ish at all, but rather taught you the hospital policies and told you what to expect during your stay, also some basic newborn care info.
We did ours at GBMC as part of the all day class. We basically saw Triage, L&D rooms, and PP rooms and then they went over all the visiting policies, which wasn't really necessary since it is all over their website and all your paperwork for the hospital. We could have done the tour by itself if we didn't take a class, for free. We did have to leave our driver's license at the front desk in order to tour. We signed up for our classes through the hospital's website.
You can get a tour of St. Joe's without taking a class. You just call the Family Education Office and they will set you up. We are going on ours tonight and we did Bradley classes outside of the hospital.

At Franklin Square all you had to do was call the OB TLC line and they scheduled our tour that way.
Re: When/How Do you make an appt for a hospital tour??
