There are a few of us on here who adore it, myself included (it's my number one girls name for number 2 if that ever happens). For a lot of people it's a love it or hate it name.
Penny isn't the only nick name, if you absolutely need one - Poppy, Pepper, Penn etc.
I really like this name. I would consider it if I wasn't so on the fence about Penny, which I know someone will call her. I like Ellie as a nickname too.
I love it. Would have been my girl name but doesn't work with my last name. I wouldn't use it if you don't like Penny as you might end up with that as a nickname, even if you don't intend to.
Eh, it's nms. However, I have never known anyone personally with the name. I think if I did, it could grow on me. I thought most went by Penny though (at least in places where I've seen/heard the name) but maybe not.

I used to dislike this name, of course that was when I also had no idea how to pronounce it. Since then it has grown on me, and wow, I love the nn options!
I 100% love it. I also love the nn Penny. The only reason it is not on my list for girl names is that Penny with our last (which is also a type of currency) sounds totally ridonkulous. I think it is super cute and ages well.
That's funny b/c I love Penny, but really dislike Penelope, so it's off the list.
This! Although I wouldn't go as far as "really dislike" but it's NMS. I think Penny is really cute for a little girl, but I have a hard time transitioning it to an adult.

I like it a lot. It was on our short list for DD, but I was having trouble with the nickname thing as well since I really don't like Penny. Now hearing Penn and Nelly as nicknames, I might have been more inclined to use it...but I still prefer names without nicknames for us. Either way, I think it's cute

I love it. But I think it's one of those polarizing names that people either love or hate.
I actually love the nn Penny, but I love Poppy, too. I've also heard Nellie as a nn.

One of my favorite girl names... I regret that we used the name on our cat. Boo.
FWIW we call our cat 'Nelly' for short.
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
Did you just watch a Baby Story on TLC?? LOL!
I think it's cute
