I just wanted to say that I really love my husband

I have been debating natural child birth for awhile and then watched "The Business of Being Born" with my husband last week and it has pushed me over the edge. I've also decided that I would like to have a water birth. Tonight I told my husband that I wanted to talk to him about birthing. When I explained to him what I wanted to do and that I didn't want to go the OB route he said "Honestly, I've been expecting this conversation for awhile". I said "Why? Because I'm a feminist hippie?" and he was like, "Well, you have always been kind of... anti-establishment" and laughed. It was really good. He helped me to realize that this is more of who I've been all along so it's actually not that weird for me to choose to give birth this way. What a great guy

Re: "Honestly, I've been expecting this..."
It's great when you have your DH onside.
My Dh was always, "I have no idea why you wouldn't want drugs, but you're the one doing the work, so just whatever you want."
Then we went to an antenatal class where they went through all the pain relief options and the potential risks.
As soon as he heard the risks associated with the epi, he was super supportive of me going natural.

dont forget "because I am a woman who thinks that the health and safety of me and my baby is important enough to research my choices and make decisions based on that research and not on what 'most people' do."
Well done!
Haha, that's great!
I remember at my baby shower when I was pg with DS, I told one of my friends how I was going med-free and she was like, "See, I knew you'd do something crazy!" Psh, whatever, girl... the crazy ones are the ones who want to be paralyzed, lol!
