rash or yeast?????

How do you know?? Yesterday DS had a fever all day (lowest 101.5 highest 104.6) and some tiny red dots which I was thinking was heat rash. Well today he has a full blown diaper rash. He's never really had a diaper rash before so I have no idea how to tell the difference. I'm scared its yeast. Its red and bumpy. No puss or blisters or pimples.

Neither diaper rash nor yeast will cause a fever. That's a high fever - have you called your doctor?

In general, a diaper rash will clear up quickly with a diaper cream and yeast will not. Put LO in disposables with a good coat of desitin. If it isn't improved in a day or gone in two, see the doctor. Rashes are MUCH easier to diagnose in person. I think you should see the pedi sooner on account of the fever, though.

DS's yeast rash was red and bumpy, but nothing as bad as the google images for yeast rash.  Coconut oil and TTO are my new BFFs when it comes to yeasty rash.

Has your LO been on any meds?

I actually did talk to the pediatric office yesterday. He isn't running a fever today. And no he hasn't been on any meds.

Yeast rashes have a very defined area (obvious point where it stops completely, and inside is 100% irritated and red, frequently the raised parts of the rash are on the border). And in my experience, the rash is worst/darkest in the leg folds, scrotum, and buttcrack. It spreads out from those points.
