advice for travel with 9 mo olds

We'll be flying for the first time when our LOs are 9 mos old.  fly with carseats?  check them?  rent a car with seats?  and what about strollers?  2 umbrella strolllers?  or the DSNG with seats?  they're already getting bored of DSNG...

what to bring? Formula/food on the plane?

TIA

Re: advice for travel with 9 mo olds

  • we flew with the girls when they were 8 months old...we were going to see my ILs and they were able to borrow car seats from friends (which I felt comfortable with)...so we didn't bring them...if you are having your LOs as lap babies I would check the car seats so you don't have to lug them through the airport (not rent when you get there)...but that's just me...

we brought formula and bottles and snacks and bought water once through security...a couple toys....a small blanket for each and a change of clothes of course...should have brought a shirt change for dh and I too....we used our double city mini and gate checked it in a bag (the bag was kind of a pain, but I didn't want to risk damage) I was glad we had it tho...for our visit and for the airport since the girls were able to nap in there when our flight out was cancelled and we were delayed, delayed, delayed....GL!  It wasn't so bad flying with the girls...I would if you can afford it get a third seat so you and your DH can sit together in a row and have a little extra room...we lucked out and had space on all but one flight and it made all the difference in the world....
