North Dakota Babies

how do you keep baby awake?

Caroline seems to be confused about her days and nights.  Any suggestions as to how to get her and keep her up during the day?  I don't want to be up half the night again :(

  • I don't think there is anything you can do when they're that little.  I know everyone says it but just try to sleep when she sleeps.  It gets better!

  • I agree with Ashley. She's too young to keep up or try to schedule. She's going to sleep when she wants/needs to there's not really anything you can do. Try to nap as much as you can and if you have help, nap while they are there. Daddys can take part of the night shift too, don't forget! Good luck. I'm feeling your pain. I've slept about 9 hours in the past 3 days.

    This.

Sorry, but I think that can be just how the first couple weeks can be for some babies.  I know my first 3 nights home from the hospital Rowen didn't sleep AT ALL!  He switched himself eventually (slowly) but it was a difficult couple weeks for us.   Just keep in mind that it will get better and rest when you can.

  • Oh, well.  It was worth a shot in asking you girls.  I figured I was being overly optimistic that there was a secret to it.
