My pregnancy with Bella was beautiful except for hip pain that was horrible for the last 5-7 weeks. The only thing that helped was getting on all fours and rocking to get the pressure off of my pelvis.
For this pregnancy I've been SO nauseous! It's awful and I'm not sure how to deal with it, honestly! I don't eat because I feel like crap and then I eat because I feel like maybe it'll help when in reality it only makes the feeling worse...
So far so good for me (knock on wood). I have just been super tired, headaches here and there and have very dull cramping still, but nothing major (just like period cramps but more mild).
I just hit 6 weeks and I have heard that the m/s starts at this time, I sure as heck hope it doesn't happen to me!
Since I haven't gone to my 1st appointment yet, I'm a bit nervous as to why I dont have any m/s or anything. Hopefully I'm just one of the lucky one's (crossing fingers)

You are so sweet Tara! The "initial shock" is over now, but I still don't feel very excited yet. Until I go to my first appointment on the 12th is when I'm sure everything will start settling in and I can start getting excited for things

I was like you no symptoms at all at first. Even when I made the appt for my first dr's visit, I told the nurse I was nervous b/c of no symptoms & she just said to give it time. Around 8 weeks, I had more m/s than I knew what to do with!!

I was very similar...I could hardly keep anything down for breakfast or lunch from 8 - 14 weeks (luckily I was usually okay with dinner), but that was all until I found the ICEE. Something about that super cold & frozen feeling made me feel sooo much better. I think it is something with the frozen temp b/c my cousin said her thing was orange sherbert. give the frozen stuff a try...hopefully it helps you too!

Me. I had some killer morning sickness, PUPPS, gestational diabetes and of course the whole twins thing. Unfortunately my only relief was in giving birth. Other than that, really sour candy helped the morning sickness (it was so sour that I started getting sore spots in my mouth, but it was the only thing worked) and steroid cream gave me some relief from the PUPPS.

Any suggestions for brands/flavors?
The only kind I found that really worked was from a mom & pop candy store in Melbourne (Ben bought it for me on a business trip), so unfortunately I can't recommend it unless you can talk Tina into getting some for you. It was almost agonizingly sour, but it really did work! The kinds I bought at the grocery store just weren't strong enough (but Aussies don't seem to be into sour candy the way Americans are so you might have better luck).
I think Jaime used some kind of sour candy, although I can't remember what...I think it was lemon flavored?

I heard lemondrops work really well. I bought a box of the LemonHead Lemondrops (in the candy aisle) just in case I start feeling icky. I have them on stand-by at both work and home

I had nausea until I delivered, and hyperemesis until the 2nd semester. I had no m/s until the 6th week, when I started feeling nauseous. But saltine crackers, hard candy and sour candy kept me through that but only for another 2 weeks, when I had my first throw-up. From then, the vomiting got worse. I started to get sick from the crackers and candy, so I moved on to ginger, sour dried prunes (Asian remedy), everything/anything anyone/any book suggested. From there, I started to throw up everything I ate (no matter what it was or how little it was) to throwing up everything I drank. I tried water, Gatorade, ginger ale, apple juice, cranberry juice, all other juices, Asian drinks...I tired to eat Jell-o, ice cream...anything and everything, just trying to find something that I could hold down. I was vomiting until I was vomiting bile because there was nothing left in my stomach. I was SO thirsty, but anything I drank just came up until I puked more bile. My throat would be so dry and I could barely sleep.
It was torture until I went to the hospital to get IV hydration after I had lost more than 10lbs in a week. Then I started getting IVs several times a week so I wasn't dehydrated anymore but I was still puking everything. The first thing I was able to take again was cranberry juice. Then I got on Zofran and I was able to eat and drink more normally again, but sometimes I'd still vomit, but at least not everything. Pretty soon, I was taking Zofran around the clock and I started to keep things down completely and just feel nausea but not actually vomit. The rest of my pregnancy was like that, but the rest of the pregnancy was really easy compared to the first trimester. I did have to take a month of disability off work and I ended up working from home (from bed) for a couple of weeks before I was able to work in the office (on Zofran) again, since I was bedridden for most of it.

I still have a fat box of LemonHeads because I puked through them so much that they started to make me more nauseous, so I had to ditch them =P
i had been doing fine, eating and drinking everything and going out etc. etc. except for the fatigue, everything was going very smoothly.
then last monday hit (week 7) and then suddenly the ms hit. and i've been a miserable b!tch. i've tried the preggie pops, the ginger products, gatorade, water, warm water, saltines, etc. lisa- i've been living on the preggie pops (the sour stuff) for teh past few days and now my mouth is raw too.
i just don't want to eat. even the taste of water is yucky.
i've been feeling very faint and dizzy. have been having some vision stuff, etc. and so today the dr. gave me the zofran. i'm still a bit nauseous, but it's not at the point where i can't tolerate putting any food or liquid in my belly.
i'm praying only 4 more weeks of this like everyone says. it's just irksome when i have to work and have deadlines.
apparently, my mom had a really rough pg with my older sister. so i guess that's where i get it from...
i'm glad i'm not alone...
D started out as a LUCKY CHARM but ended up being our LOVEBUG hawaii 10.2008 plan ;P married bio ???
i haven't read the rest of the replies....i was only kind of sick from week 8-12. saltines were my friend...i made sure there was food in my stomach at all times...if it was every empty i got sick. the sour candy also really helped me so sour patch kids were great i'm sorry you aren't feeling well and i hope that the m/s passes soon!
The Zofran worked well overall because it kept me from physically throwing up, but it doesn't help that much for nausea. But nothing worked for nausea and I tried several medications for the vomiting that didn't work so Zofran was the only thing that worked for me. I was just thankful I could physically eat and drink again.
But I was still bedridden. Everytime I got up and stood or sat or walked more than just go to the bathroom, I would end up puking. Another issue was my laptop. Everytime I looked at the screen cuz I'm trying to use it, I threw up. So we borrowed a projector and I used the computer with a wireless keyboard on my lap and the screen projected on the wall and that kept me from throwing up. I had to take a Zofram tablet every 3-4 hours, even in the middle of the night, or I'd throw up again, so I was pretty dependent on it. I still always felt nauseous. I didn't know what it was like to feel normal until after the baby was delivered. I hope it's doesn't last as long for you.
The throwing up got better with time and I was able to slowly wean myself off the Zofran by first skipping a dose here and there, then going down to half a tablet by cutting it, then stopping completely (when I tried to go cold-turkey, I would puke like crazy). It took me several tries before I was finally successful, which was about halfway into my 2nd tri. The nausea was bad until 3rd tri when it became less intense (either that or I got used to it) and then it was pretty bad during labor too. But after labor, everything felt normal again.
Hang in there! I know how horrible and torturous it feels but thank God it's only temporary. You will feel better again in a few months...and 9 months at most (seems like a long time I know), but it'll definitely be all over when the baby is here. Either way, I hope you feel better soon and I hope the Zofran works for you!
