Diaper Rec's??

I have been using the Pampers Swaddlers and have been hearing all the bad things about the new Dry Max in them. I am not having a problem I don't think. Collins's bottom does seem to be red often. Not rashy or splotchy. So maybe it is the diapers. However, I LOVE the way they fit. Is there another diaper that fits similar to the Swaddlers? He is currently wearing a size 2. Maybe it is time to move him up to the next size, but I think he is still too little.  I really like the "stretchy" tabs that are on the side. I am currently tring the Luvs...not thrilled with them. No leaks....just dot lovin the way the strap around baby. I am always paranoid they are gonna leak.

Any rec's would be greatly appreciated. And so sorry to all the mommies and babies that have been having bad experiences with the new Pampers.

TIA

Re: Diaper Rec's??

  • We stopped using Pampers after we ran out of all the NB we had because I didn't want to buy the Pampers with Dry Max.  We switched to Huggies Little Snugglers, and I love them.  The stretchy part is soooo much better than the pampers.  We're very happy.  We have tons of the old Pampers WITHOUT dry max in size 1 and 2, so we'll use those up when she's big enough, then back to Huggies.

  • We've been using Huggies since he outgrew size 1-2 Swaddlers and they have been great so far. This dry-max thing is really weird, I'm so glad we didn't have any issues. I predict a re-call though.

  • We had the same problem with Natalie - she'd turn super red when she wore the swaddlers.  I did my own non-scientific test with a huggies diaper and she didn't turn red.  I contacted the company to complain and they send me a bunch of coupons for their other diapers.  I currently have her in the Swaddler Sensitive (which does not have dry max) and she's fine in those.  I've also tried Pampers' Baby Dry and have been very happy with these in terms of softness and leak control.  They are super thin so I was worried.

I've also had good luck with regular huggies.  I don't like the ones in the red package - I get too many leaks (both with Natalie and Ryan when Ryan was in diapers).  I've used the up and up brand from Target on Ryan (again when he wore diapers) and was very happy with their performance.  They're not as soft as Pampers or Huggies but it might have been because I tried them when Ryan wore a size 5 and 6.

Luvs are okay - I agree - not very soft and I don't like the tabs.

Natalie wears a size 2 and if you wanted to meet up, I'd be happy to give you a couple to see if you like them (and if his rash goes away).

  • We like Huggies. I used the Supremes when he was younger, now we use the cheaper ones.

  • I switched DD from Pampers to Huggies Little Movers. We had some leaking previously with Pampers (we were using them before the new dry max)    I like the way they fit and we haven't had any issues so far.

  • We went from swaddlers to the baby dry (which are their "low end" diapers by pampers...they do not have the dry max).

We tried MANY different kinds and for the longest time they were the only ones that fit EJ but this week we decided to bite the bullet and try the costco brand because they told us we could return it even if opened and one sleeve used.

So far we totally dig them.  They fit just fine and contain poop better because of the gathered back but when filled with urine they get a little bunchy where the pampers just get puffy.  But EJ doesn't seem to care and no one is looking at his diaper that closer so we are sticking with them since they are the same price for 60 additional diapers.

  • Thank you ladies for all the help. I think I will definately try the Huggies and maybe the Costco brand. Maybe I will even get lucky and save a buck or two.

I bought a case of the Costco brand for Simon and I LOVED them!  We actually just ran out and went again today to Costco... problem is they only come in size 1/2- as in, it's supposed to fit a size one or two, so they have Size 1/2, then Size 3, etc.

The 1/2 seemed small to me, more like a Huggies or Pampers Size 1... Simon is just about ready to go to a size 2 and I thought getting a whole case of size 1/2 now they'd be too small, you know? So wait til C is a Size 3 to try them!! I bought Huggies Size 2 instead.

  • We use huggies (snug and dry I think?) and haven't had any problems.   E is in size 2 right now and I think we've had one leak in all the time that he's been wearing them.

I think I read somewhere that the costco brand is co-packed by Huggies.

    H,

That is a good idea. I think he may almost be ready for a size 3. I just remember Cooper in a size 3 for almost a year and I didnt think he started this young. But Collin def chunkier than Cooper ever was. Thanks!

  • We use Costco brand too. I LOVE them. There was kind of a stint in between the size 1/2 and 3, like the previous poster mentioned, but during that time my LO wore up and ups size 2 and it worked perfectly. He even started wearing the costco 3's when they were a little big for him and they never leaked. I heard from the grapevine that they are made by huggies though...
