I didn't know you were a teacher!   I teach first grade.  I hope you're enjoying your summer.  When do you guys go back to school?

    We go back August 30, its been so nice to be off!  How about you? I'm kind of scared to go back, I had a sub (that I never met)  for he last month of school and have no idea the condition of my room...

    We go back around the same time here.  Teachers report at the end of August, and the kids' first day is the day after Labor Day.  Actually, I'm laid off right now, but I fully expect to be called back to work before the start of the school year.  My district laid off about 2,000 teachers this year.  I have been teaching nearly 12 years, but I hear the layoffs went up to 18 years. I'm not worried, though.  My district is in a lot of turmoil right now, and this is my second layoff in 12 years.  It is a little nerve-wracking, though- especially with a new baby!  Good luck with the kids this year, and hopefully your room isn't a mess!
