swimming in cold water

We are visiting my husband's family in Ireland, where the Atlantic is very cold but so very wonderful! Is it ok to swim in cold water when pregnant? It really is cold water... like gasp when you get it...and weather isn't very summery... rainy and quite cold. I haven't been able to find any info online about COLD water, just hot water.

I think you should go by your own comfort level - as long as your body temperature is not dropping, you should be fine.
