how do I increase supply on one side?

Everyone tells me it's normal to produce less on one side but this is crazy! I'm starting to look lopsided. When I pump I get 1oz out of the left and barely a 1/2oz out of the right. It doesn't help that LO and I both favor the left so right isn't getting as much time. I put him on that breast first each session, and I try to keep him on there a little longer but he gets frustrated and keeps pulling off leaving me with a very sore nip. I pump after each session and pump a little extra on that side as well. Nothing seems to be working. Any advice?

Start feeding on the un-preferred side. Its normal to prefer one side (its just more comfortable one way) but that's the issue. Start out on the lower production side - if he pops off, keep redirecting until you're soft and then switch to the other side. Even if you're only getting 1/2 oz, keep pumping for a few mins (up to 5) on that side - it will help signal for more production.

Make sure you are eating and drinking enough for starters! Increase feeding/pumping frequency. Fenugreek is an OTC herb that can help increase milk supply. If that doesn't work, there is a prescription, Reglan, that you can take for 3 weeks to help!

I only feed on one side at a time because my supply is ridiculous (seriously, she goes into a milk coma after just one breast) but when I was trying to up the supply on one side because she'd mauled that nipple so much I wasn't using it, I just pumped on that side every time I fed her. It upped the supply in a hurry....
