We started thinking about it, but we couldn't agree on names. Heck, we know what they are now and STILL can't come up with names!

We knew what we were going to name them if they were boys....Noah & Nathan. If they were girls or girl/boy we had no idea. At 12 weeks we found out they were identical boys...thus Noah and Nathan are on their way!

We had two sets of girl names and two sets of boy names going into our big u/s. When we found out we were having one of each, then we debated whether to use a combination of the names or just pick one set. Our DS's name we combined the two names and our DD's name we chose one set.
After 20 months TTC with PCOS, we were blessed with twins!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
We talked about names and had top contenders but never set anything in stone.
We didn't decide on names until my nurses were getting ready to wheel me down to the OR for my c/s. My first glimpses of the babies was so quick; I remember asking DH if he thought the names fit. He said yes so the names stuck even before they brought Timothy and Libby over to me. LOL
We did. IF it was boys, they were going to be Blake and Reid.
I'm having girls, our girls names are Lucy Louise and Landry Paige. The problem is they are identical. So we are trying to decide if we want them to start with the same letter even though they are identical.
If it was a boy and girl, it was Holt and Hadley Paige.
We just made a list of names & chose, not with anything in mind of them 'going' together b/c we wanted to choose 2 names we really liked & really wanted them to have whether twins or not, not 2 names that were matchy or similar or whatever just b/c they're twins b/c they'll spend more time as individual adults than as twins associated with each other anyway. Just my .02. But that being said, we have a certain taste in names as everyone does so the names aren't completely different in 'style' if that makes sense.
We didn't do it til we knew what they were but our strategy was 2 lists (since they're b/g) and we each put down probably 10 names on each taht we liked and then we passed the list back & forth and each got to veto a name each time we had the list. We did this maybe on 3 occasions over a couple months and ended up w/ 2 finalists for each one & the decided in the hospital.
We haven't really started talking about names yet, but I am sure that we will make a short list for each of the twins. If it goes anything like DS, I will be super indecisive and have to decide sometime in the hospital after the babies arrive. For DS, DH kinda decided when I was hopped up on meds after my c-section and I just agreed. Hopefully we will be better prepared this time.
Re: Did you come up with name combos....

We did! We made a girl's list and a boy's list and started hooking first and middle names together off of them.
My little girl is Landry Kate and my Little man is Hudson Clark. My two year old daughter is Emerson Lynn.
