DH and I were originally going to name our LO Lochlan Drake, my family hated it, and I felt it wasn't playground approved being my twit sister in law decided to start calling him Lochness Monster in public, and my FIL called him Lochwenn lol
So, our next choice was Liam- DH calls me the other day on his birthday and is like..So my coworker just had his kid on my birthday today, and they named him Liam --and that turned him off of that name, and I think it's going to blow up in popularity. (we haven't nixed it)
We both like uncommon/ less popular names that are HARD to nickname (for example Matthew, Robert, Bradley turn into Matt Rob Brad---hate shortened names)
We both like French, Scottish, Irish vibes so if you can suggest anything in those lines or anything not along the Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John scene that goes well with Laffitte as a last name would be awesome. TIA!
Re: HELP! Never going to agree on a BOY name!!
You seriously have my style down!! I have previously mentioned about 1/2 of those names to DH. As far as the family uproar about the name, we have just learned our lesson and they lost their rights to knowing the name before our kid's born lol. I totally feel the same way about this being our turn, but I also dont want to deal with all the shebang, because eventually i'm going to put the smack down lol. We decided no on lochlan because DH doesn't want him to be nicknamed Loch- which i dont like either- so it's def. out of the running. But it's not to say we wont pick and equally "wierd" name as everyone calls it.
I really like Duncan and think it meets all of your requirements.
Oh, and I much prefer Lochlan over Liam.

I am so glad you're done sharing your names with the family - people are SO rude sometimes, but I feel like they're better at behaving themselves when the kid is already here.
We have an unusual name picked for our LO, and I don't care if the family doesn't like it - they will have to learn to love it!
That being said - my friend used the names Declan and Nolan for her boys. How do you feel about those?
