I really like Margot, I think it's underrated for baby girls and I don't understand because it has a somewhat masculine/unisex sound it that should appeal today.
I didn't hear this name being used until after I saw the movie Despicable Me (little girl's name in the movie). Now I hear it quite often. Cute name though...just wondering if it's gaining in popularity because of the movie.
I have not seen Despicable Me yet... but it makes me think of the neighbor's Todd and Margot next door in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation... who was a big B!
I love this name, but when I mentioned it to some friends they completely shot it down. Oh well.

I like it, sounds French and retro.?
I agree. It looks sort of like Maggot to me ::shudder::
I have it on my long list spelled Margaux.
I didn't know it was in Despicable Me, and that makes me kind of sad.
But it's okay, b/c there are a lot of names higher on my list, so unless I have tons of kids, I probably won't be using it.
