Babies on the Brain

Ok how to I make green beans not so boring.

We have green beans in our garden and they are so flipping good.  So we've been eating them almost every night.  But I need some ideas on how to make them more than just green beans.  I think Em is getting bored of them, and I am too.

Re: Ok how to I make green beans not so boring.

  • I usually saute them with a bit of olive oil and garlic.

  • olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper and bake them off in the oven...so yummy (I also do this with asparagus) or bacon, onion, salt, pepper, and butter in a sauce pan, add just enough water to cover cook for 30 minutes or until tender, hope these help. Big Smile

  • Green bean casserole.

Boil them, bake them, broil them, pan fry them...

    Add them to stir fry.

Add them cooked and chilled to salads.

    1. Put them in a pan just covered with water for about 2 min until they get bright green.
    2. Dry them off, dump the water and dry the pan
    3. Saute minced garlic in olive oil until it starts to brown
    4. Throw the green beans back in with thinly sliced roasted red peppers for about 3-4 minutes.
    5. Done.

I do this too and when they are practically done and the pan is still good and hot, I add some soy sauce and stir that around.

You could fry them too, I guess.
